IPM is an intention

1.     To grow crops with minimum expenditure and minimum/ judicious use of chemical pesticides with a view to least disturbance to environment, ecosystem and biodiversity.
2.     To understand the correct objectives of IPM i.e. to grow safe food to eat, to provide quality agri. products to trade, safe environment to live and to improve lively-hood of the farmers.
3.     To manage pests with due care of community health and environment.
4.     To change the mindset of the farmers to achieve the above objectives.
5.      To provide IPM inputs to the farmers at their doorsteps to implement IPM.
6.     To save the farmers, to save the nature, to save the nation and society by way of providing, safe food, water and environment.
7.     To reduce the use of chemical pesticides and to promote non chemical methods of pest management.
8.     To enhance the farmer’s in-come without disturbance the environment.
9.     To spread the technology upto grass root level.
10.                         Lack of intention lead the failure of IPM technology.
11.                        To replace chemical pesticides with bio-pesticides.
12.                          To suppress the pest population up to below ETL level.
The lack of intention is observed when one staff of a particular scheme is transferred to another scheme.  At this time the integration of the mindsets of staff members of CIPMCs and states government is needed. All efforts may be made to integrate the mindsets.

IPM is a science to grow crops with intention to provide:

1.     Safe food to eat.
2.     Safe fodder to cattle.
3.     Safe water to drink.
4.     Safe air to breath.
5.     Safe agri. products to trade.

6.     Safe environment to live.

Creating awareness among farmers to adopt IPM

The following awareness may be created among farmers to implement IPM:
1.     The pesticides are not only panacea for the management of the pests.
2.     Pesticides are harmful to our health and environment.
3.     All organisms of the agro eco system are not pests.
4.     Pesticides don’t help to enhance the crop yield.
5.     Pests are not only the factors responsible to reduce the crop yield. There are many a bio-tic factors responsible to reduce to crop yield.
6.     The pest population below ETL is also needed to maintain the ecological balance in the agro eco system and for survival of beneficial organisms system.
7.     Calendar based application of pesticides is not advisable as it is not useful to enhance the crop yield.
8.     They must grow safe food to eat.
9.     Indiscriminate use of pesticides may lead the crop failure also.
10.            Pesticides are more harmful than pests.
11.            Food security and food safety must be ensured simultaneously.
12.            Need assessment is needed before resorting application of pesticides.
13.            Pesticides are poison need to be handled with care by the farmers.
14.            Pesticides must be used judiciously.

15.            Farmer’s safety must be ensured.
