Integrated Pest management for better tomorrow

Integrated Pest management helps to: 
  • Grow Safe Food with minimum cost and least disturbance to Ecosystem and Environment.
  • Maintain Ecological balance in nature.
  • Conserve Biodiversity and beneficial fauna in agro-eco-system.
  • Provide Biosecurity which includes food security, Trade security and Health security.
  • Prevent side effects of Pesticides like Pest resistance, Pest resurgence, Health hazards, Destruction of beneficial fauna of an agro-eco-system, Pesticides residue in food, Fodder, Human body and water, etc.
  • Prevent Environmental, Water, Soil and air Pollution.
  • Prevent entry of Pesticides in Food Chain System.
  • Prevent occupational health hazards due to Pesticides.
  • Issue advance Pest advisories and Pest alerts to adopt/make suitable Pest Management strategy.
  • Promote and facilitate safe and smooth national and international trade of agricultural commodities from Pest free areas and Areas of low pest prevalence.
  • Detect emerging pests (Both indigenous and invasive) problems in an area.
  • Make farmers competent or empower farmers for implementing different IPM practices.
  • Improve Socio Economic Status of the farmers.
