To reduce the consumption of chemical pesticides and fertilizers in Agriculture is todays need of the hour.I had been working or worked before my retirement from Directorate of Plant protection, quarantine and Storage in Biological Control of crop pests and weeds,Pests Surveillance and monitoring and Strenthening and Mdernization if Pest Management approach in India with their main objectives to reduce the use of chemical pesticides in Agriculture though implementation of different activities of of these schemes and could get a great success in reduction of chemical pesticides in Agriculture in India and could be able to reduce nearly 50 % consumption of chemical pesticides in Agriculture fom 75000 Metric Tonnes during 1990-91to 39 000 Metric tonnes during 2005-2006 but still we have go more and more or long way to go to reduce their consumption to grow chemical pesticides free agricultural commodities.
Certain states like Sikkim have adopted Organic Farming by stopping the use of chemicals in Agriculture in their states and these states have emerged as Organic states.
I said on different occasions that production of chemical pesticides free Agricultural commodities must be adopted as a priority agenda by the Government of India and now I am happy to see that Natural farming and production of chemical pesticides free Agricultural commodities has been considered as a priority agenda of Govrnment of India in the budget for the year 2022-23 and an action plan has been developed or prepared for its implementation for the year 2022-23 for which Natural Farming will be promoted along side of Ganga river up to 5 km during 2022 -23.
1. गंगा किनारे दोनों और पर 5 किलोमीटर के दायरे में मिशन मोड मैं प्राकृतिक खेती की जाएगी l
Certain state Govts like Haryana and UP are also marching ahead for the implementation of IPM and Natural farming for the year 2022-23.
It is my dream to see India with chemical pesticides free Agriculture. Now Govt is considering this issue as a priority agenda .
