Conservation of biodiversity or biocontrol agents in Agroecosystem.

Difinition of Conservation of biocontrol agents or bio-diversity:-
1.Removal of those agricultural or cultural practices which are harmful to the beneficials found in Agroecosystem.
2.Enforcement of Laws for the protection and build up of beneficial organisms found in Agroecosystem.
3. To make Agroecosystem or environment better suited or congenial for the survival and multiplication of bio control agents or beneficial organisms found in Agroecosystem or Ecosystem is called as Conservation of biocontrol agents.

Availablity of Food, and Shelter in adverse conditions re the basic need of Conservation of biocontrol agents.

Ways and means for Conservation of biodiversity or biocontrol agents in Agroecosystem.
1.Removal or avoiding of those agricultural practices which are harmful to biocontrol agents or bio-diversity of an agroecosystem such as blanket or indiscriminate spraying of chemical pesticides ,trash burning of crop residues, indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers such as Urea, deep ploughing etc
2.Adopt Ecological Engineering through intercropping, mixed cropping and border cropping.Growing of trap crops.
3.Avoid indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
4.Augmentation of biocontrol agents from the areas of abundance to the areas of scarcity of biocontro agents.
5. Operate a strict crop Pest Surveillance and Monitoring and Agroecosystem Analysis (AESA) programme  for descision making for the interventions to be adopted in the field.
6.Use/Instalation of  conservation cages or bird pecher.
7.Maintain Sancturies  or reserve places for biocontrol agents under net or controlled conditions .
8.Conduct special  Surveys of biocontrol agents and collect biocontrol agents for lab rearing and their mass release in the field again.
9. Wide publicity though electronic and print media.
10.Mulching of crop residue in the field for conservation of spiders.
11.Promote biopesticides inplace of chemical pesticides and inputs of Natural farming.
12..Growing crops that provide pollen to biocontrol agents.
13.Farmers education about identification of biocontrol agents.
