Few things for discussion about IPM emerged in meetings on different occasions

1.There are many things to say about IPM but nothing works except chemicals in fields,says a Senior Scientist .(I  do not want to mention his name )

  IN this connection I would like to say there may be following reasons of above statement .

i.Since all the researches related with Agriculture or IPM have been and are being done by the Scientists of research organizations  related with Agriculture or IPM which were or being  handed over to us for implementation in the farmers fields.If these researches are not giving results,they   may be   either pseudo researches  or  they are not being implemented in right way due to   unavailability of inputs required for their implementation. In my ideas unavailability of IPM inputs ,their implementation on proper way,lack of trained staff and their willingness are the main reasons for this .In my practical I point of view the researches being supplied to us are not pseudo researches but they are not being applied in proper way .

2.Farmers are already doing chemical based IPM giving first priority to Chemical pesticides and fertilizers wheareas  IPM principles recommend Chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers only as a last priority to deal with emergency situations .Let's select suitable methods and policies of crop production,protection and management which are  ecofriendly, nature and society friendly for crop production,protection and management system either from the IPM package and Practices or from the systems prevailing in  nature.Crop production ,protection and management and IPM systems are interlinked each others to ensure the production of safe Agricultural commodities to eat and quality Agricultural commodities to trade. 

  The overall crop production ,protection and  Management  package must be economically viable,profitable ,able to enhance the farmers income ,through export, market access to fetch more and more sale price of Agricultural commodities,through profitable crop Diversification in to other sectors related with Agriculture.
