1.Locust warning Organisation must always be kept ready with all control potential to combate the locust menace.
2.All the vacant posts must always be kept filled up .
3.Mouck up operations and trainings must be given not only to the locust staff regularly but also to the staff members of other schemes of the Dte.of Plant protection ,quarantine and Storage so that they can be deployed for locust control operation work at the time of locust emergency.
4.If possible the postings of local staff may be made in LW O who are well aware about the local routes of border areas because the deployment of control potential including pesticides ,and other locust control equipments is required to be done only during night hour and the air sorter ground spray is done only during very early morning hours before the sun rises as just after sun rises the locusts starts flying .After flying the locust it isnot possible to control locust. Locust is chased during evening hours to findout the location of settling thr locust swarms .5. Regular monitoring of locust population both at national and international level may be done to findout the possibility of locust invasions or local breeding.
6.Liaisioning with all the national and international agencies.

Preparation of Contingency plan and obtaining all relevant approvals and sactions in advance every year before obsetsof locust season.
8.procurement of pesticides and equipment in advance.
